Responsible for execution of transmission & substation construction/maintenance projects providing technical support, oversight, scheduling, monitoring, coordination, and management updates.
Provide technical support, oversight and coordination of Transmission line and Substation construction projects. Insure all lines and substation equipment are installed and commissioned in a safe and efficient manner. Help assure crews are working safely, efficiently and effectively. Participate in scoping all capital project as well as constructability reviews. Provide feedback & support to engineers in the application and design of Transmission systems. Work closely with ROW agent and landowner to insure crews can excess the ROW. Follow up on the closure of projects insuring as built drawings are complete and returned to drafter. Oversee & monitor the safety and technical performance of contractors and company personnel. Work closely with other construction OC's, Engineers, T&D Operating Centers and local maintenance groups to assure continuity is maintained in scheduling work, outages, final verification, testing, check out and commissioning..
Minimum education required of the position
High School Diploma plus at least 6 years of Transmission Line or Substation experience required.
Minimum experience required of the position
Minimum 6 years of experience in related field. Technical knowledge of procedures, maintenance, and operations of transmission & distribution substations.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Technical knowledge of procedures, maintenance, and operations of transmission & distribution substations.
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects
Physically able to work long hours
Must be capable of being certified and able to perform substation switching.
Knowledge of electrical distribution, transmission, and substation systems
Must have complete understanding of Entergy Safety rules, regulations, and safe work procedures.
Must be available for 24 hours per day / 7 days per week for emergency callout and extended hours.
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to perform core duties of the job
Must be a self starter and able to work without direct supervision
Excellent computer skills; Knowledgeable in MS Office toolkit.
Self-motivated with ability to make good decisions
Able to work with other personnel, departments and organizations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
