WEC Energy Group is currently seeking applicants for May 2021 summer & year round Human Resources internships based out of our Milwaukee-WI location.

We employ students for summer and year round opportunities to help design creative cost effective systems and equipment that keep the energy flowing to our customers in a safe and reliable manner. WEC Energy Group offers a variety of human resource opportunities for students seeking hands-on experience that are currently enrolled in a four-year degree program.

Do you ever wonder why something is done a certain way and know it can be done better? Know a little something about Lean or continuous improvement and want to put it into practice?

We want you to help us enhance end-user experiences by removing unnecessary steps, creating ones of value, and documenting the end result. You need to be comfortable asking questions and working independently, getting others to collaborate on the ideal end state, and thinking creatively about the preferred end solution. You’ll have to coordinate meetings, take lots of notes, and create visuals which articulate the result. That said, we’re looking for someone with problem solving skills, solid communication and organizational skills, and a passion for leaving things better than when they started.

Things an intern will take away from this experience:

  • Preparing a business case on why upgrading the chosen process is a great idea

  • Helping with buy-in from the teams who need to update the way they work

  • Guiding teams to outline and document business processes

  • Delivering an outcome that is cooperative and can be quickly implemented

Other learning opportunities may present themselves, like:

  • Assisting with transactions related to employee information

  • Understanding HR IT needs and supporting projects related to them

  • Working with HR professionals to identify future improvement opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED

  • Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Human Resources, or closely related degree.

  • Must be available to work full-time during summer 2021. If available, hours may be flexible to accommodate school schedule with part-time work during the school year

  • Minimum GPA of 2.8 or above.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PowerPoint experience

  • Experience with Visio or Project
