We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Gas System Analyst as part of our Gas Pipeline Safety and Integrity Group in our Milwaukee, WI location.
A Gas System Analyst (associate/senior) position functioning as a team member supporting gas asset management strategies in various areas such as corrosion prevention, station operations, leak and survey activities, mapping and facility documentation, gas system control functions and code compliance activities. The Analyst conducts installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and project activities with general instructions and often independent of direct oversight.
Provides technical support to internal clients and external stakeholders on a variety of tasks in corrosion prevention.
Analyzing existing, new, or replacement piping systems for appropriate cathodic protection design.
Assisting in the oversight for the completion of the company’s corrosion control DOT/PSC 135 code compliance inspections and surveys.
Assisting in the management of the work processes that support corrosion voltage records and the mapping of corrosion records to ensure compliance with all codes and regulations.
Supporting and/or have principal duties in the analysis and field review of high pressure gas facilities as required by the Company’s Integrity Management Plan.
Supporting field operations personnel in performing corrosion control activities.Ensures appropriate documentation and facility records requirements are maintained. Ensures that actions follow Company standards and procedures, comply with appropriate regulations and support the Company’s operational and financial objectives.
Receives detailed instructions following prescribed methods and practices. Exhibits fundamental technical knowledge and skills. Applies sound judgment in decision making.
Generally works under direct supervision or oversight.
Managing small to moderately complex projects. Functions as lead for individual or small group tasks.
Performs routine tasks and limited portions of broader assignments.
Supports emergency response activities.

High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
Valid driver’s license
National Association of Corrosion Engineers – NACE certification or obtain the certification within 2 years of accepting the role.
Demonstrates fundamental technical knowledge and analytical skills.
Experience in directly related technical field is beneficial such as gas distribution operations, process control operations, mapping/GPS applications, corrosion prevention operations, gas system control operations and/or gas distribution code compliance.
Associate’s degree in related technical field
Sound understanding of gas distribution codes
