Job Purpose

The Training Associate position is used to facilitate the coordination of training, records management, and training delivery. This position is used as an entry level or pathway into a Training Specialist role and works with personnel in various departments.

Essential Functions

  1. Prioritize and execute safety training programs and courses of OH/UG electric distribution utility as assigned by Training Director.

  2. Perform electrical assessments to verify placement of newly hired electrical employees.

  3. Data input and management in the learning management and safety data management systems.

  4. Distribute reporting to operations leaders related to training data.

  5. Support the functionality and usability of the Learning Management System and Employee Development Team’s shared drive.

  6. Delivery of non-craft specific training

  7. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Comfortable presenting safety and skills training information in front of groups, up to 30 people.

  2. Experience and proficiency in OH/UG electric operations and procedures.

  3. A High School Diploma, or equivalent.

  4. Strong computer and communication skills.

  5. Good verbal and written communication skills.

  6. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.

  7. Ability to operate office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Previous instructor qualifications with emphasis in safety training.

  2. Previous experience with Learning Management Systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is primarily sedentary, with some filing or lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
