Sr. Test Data Management Engineer

Full Time Perm

Salary : $91,000 - $136,600, plus annual bonus

Shift : Hybrid - 2 days on-site 3 days remote

Location: Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN

To support this vision, NiSource plans to focus on merging synergies to drive efficiencies in testing by standing up a Quality Engineering (hereafter referred as “QE”) C4E Team. The initial focus of the QE C4E will be on building enterprise-wide capabilities in testing and quality practices that can be enabled across different transformation programs and projects.

The Sr. Test Data Management Engineer, reporting to Manager Delivery Methods & Practices within the Agile Delivery Enablement (ADE) department, will participate as a Test Data Management technical subject matter expert within the quality engineering center for enablement (QE C4E). This role requires expertise in Tosca capabilities to define and configure Test Data Management (TDM) functions of Data Setup on existing applications with provisioning and developing methods for day-to-day data provisioning using Tosca TDM.

This role is responsible for providing input into and executing on a strategy to advance the utilization and adoption of Tosca TDM capabilities and the integrated test data management framework throughout the NiSource delivery organization. This will require strong coordination and communication with IT delivery teams following the NiSource delivery frameworks (agile, waterfall, and iterative), business partners and IT delivery partners and service providers. The Lead IT Systems Analyst will have duties related to creation of operational documentation and playbooks and have coaching and training duties for both QE C4E peer staff, application support personnel and the NiSource Tricentis user community. The Lead IT Systems Analyst, although a Test Data Management specialist, should also have a demonstrated ability to learn and stay current with adjacent software engineering tools and capabilities – examples include but are not limited to: CI/CD pipelines, test automation, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing TDM capabilities by enabling adoption/operationalization of repeatable processes, governance framework, automation, and various tools/utilities that is supportive of Waterfall, Iterative and Agile Methodologies.

  • Forecast test data requirements based on anticipated future demand across the enterprise to help drive automation to be built into data mapping activities.

  • Maintains relationship and provides operations support for Testing Tools Application Support Team and Test Environment Management Team, as needed.

  • Develop a data analytics approach​.

  • Drive data requirements which include acquisition, masking, maintenance, and security reviews.​

  • Collaborate with Test SMEs and Application Teams (DBAs, Infrastructure Teams, Security, etc.) to identify test data requirements and triage around data issues as needed​​

  • Document existing database and technical processes required to locate, manage or create and monitor data elements in the test data management repository.​

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in managing and using TDM tools such as Tricentis Tosca TDM

  • 3+ years of experience delivering test data management as a shared service aligned with enterprise strategies or department roadmaps

  • 3+ years of experience with Data Profiling, Data Governance, Data Sub-setting, Provisioning, or Data Security

  • 5+ years of experience in Analysis, Estimation, Design, Development, Testing, and Implementation of synthetic data generation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced in Tosca Data Layout

  • Experience with Power BI

  • Experience in test Data Masking tools such as Delphix Masking, IBM Optim

  • Understand industry TDM trends and continuously seek to improve the maturity of TDM practice using automation.

  • Expertise on DBs Oracle, SQL Server, DB2

  • Proven competency in Project Management
