Eversource Energy Supervisor, Corporate Procurement in Manchester, New Hampshire
Job Description Summary:
The Supervisor, Procurement provides leadership for strategic sourcing of major transmission and distribution materials/equipment, and the material coordinator role including: planning, scheduling, negotiating, and procurement of materials and equipment in support of Eversource Transmission.
Provide leadership for the procurement and expediting of materials and equipment to support the Eversource Transmission Capital Expansion Program.
Provide leadership and direction to Sr. Sourcing Agents and Material Analysts. Manage and evaluate individual’s performance.
Create environment for inclusion and communication for internal business partners and suppliers. Work, with business sections’ management to be involved in a planning stage of capital project’s potential procurement.
Develop / implement policy/procedures/system requirements for materials, supplies, equipment, services and major projects. Leads with Materials Management and the business partners for new and alternate sources of materials, supplies, and equipment to achieve lowest total cost of ownership as well as mitigate risk for the corporation by establishing strategic sourcing teams.
Review market conditions and project requirements, and recommend timing of major procurement actions in consultation with internal requestor's. Manage and review strategic sourcing, material and equipment strategy with Business Partners. Ensure bidding and contract award processes are in compliance with corporate policies and procedures and in alignment with strategic sourcing practices.
Establish and maintain strategic alliances with key suppliers to support the Eversource Transmission Capital Program. These strategic alliances will directly impact Eversource’s ability to execute the Capital Program.
Provide support for and adhere to all procurement policies and procedures and ensure compliance. Support all audit requests to maintain compliance to corporate policies.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications: Technical Knowledge/Skill: Thorough knowledge of contracts and of utility business. Ability to understand and manage extremely complex contracts for strategic alliances for major equipment. Ability to translate technical information between technical and non-technical audiences. Full understanding of purchasing and inventory systems. Strong understanding of contract language terms and conditions. Solid understanding of business, financial principles. Advanced problem solving, decision making, and influencing skills. Advanced negotiation skills. Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills. Able to present to a wide range of audiences. Demonstrated ability to manage complex and or critical internal and external relationships requiring diplomacy, political savvy. Advanced program, project management skills and techniques. Expert analytical & MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years related experience. Supervisory experience is preferred. Experience drafting complex contract agreements. Experience managing cross Page 2 of 2 Rev #2 functional programs / projects. Licenses & Certifications: Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Six Sigma, Lean, Process or Project Mgmt. certifications desirable Up to 25% travel.
