Alliant Energy Total Rewards Analyst I in Madison, Wisconsin

5382BRJob Responsibilities:

  • Provides day-to-day support of benefits administration for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, COBRA, 401k, leave of absence and time off programs; and frontline support for employee benefit inquiries, partnering with benefits broker and/or benefits providers as needed.

  • Contributes to the design and delivery of our annual Total Rewards programs (open enrollment, merit, incentives, and equity cycles).

  • Manages benefit invoicing and assists in compliance management (e.g., ACA, 5500 reporting, 401(k) audit). Works with Finance to ensure accounting structure and vendor coding are accurately defined and utilized.

  • Evaluates job responsibilities, qualifications, and FLSA status by conducting job analysis and observing jobs being performed. Prepares and presents summary reports of job and compensation analysis. Maintains job descriptions in software systems and evaluates job descriptions for consistency and clarity.

  • Maintains market competitive data by participating in salary and benefit surveys, evaluating survey effectiveness, and analyzing company compensation and benefit offerings against market data.

  • Maintains the Total Rewards software (e.g., market pricing, job description) by gaining in-depth knowledge of systems, staying on top of software updates, maintaining data integrity within system, auditing access and security measures, and recommending changes and improvements to how we utilize software.

  • Improves total rewards knowledge by reviewing trends in total rewards legal rulings; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional and technical publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional organizations.

  • Conducts ongoing total rewards transactional and procedural activities in an accurate and timely fashion. Maintains procedural and end user documentation.

    The Alliant Energy Human Resources Department is currently seeking a Total Rewards Analyst I or II to join our team in Madison, WI . The candidate selected for this critical role must be a self-starter and will be responsible for supporting the administration of the company’s benefit programs along with responsibilities of select compensation programs while staying abreast of trends and related best practices within the utility industry.

This position provides daily administration of health and welfare programs, conducts research and manages surveys on total rewards trends, and supports the annual merit and incentive programs. Additionally, successful candidates will help employees resolve benefit and compensation questions through research and ongoing communications while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies regarding total rewards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2+ years of experience working within a human resources function (e.g., benefits, compensation).

  • Demonstrated experience managing confidential data professionally.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting research, analyzing information and data, and presenting findings in a concise format.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to synthesize large sets of data and determine high level keys messages and gaps. Able to present findings effectively to management.

  • Demonstrated advanced level skill using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and situations.

  • Ability to understand and follow broad and complex instructions.

  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive work environment.
