BWXT is currently seeking a Project Controls Specialist for its Lynchburg, VA – Ramsey Place location!
BWXT is People Strong, Innovation Driven - be part of BWXT’s innovation hub. BWXT’s Advanced Technologies (AT) researches, designs, and develops innovative new nuclear reactors, nuclear rocket propulsion systems, and radioisotope production systems for both internal and external customers. AT is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join our team.
Perform various analytical functions, including analyzing data sets for trends, correlations and abnormalities and provide actionable insights.
Assist in developing quarterly and yearly project forecasts including identifying trends in revenue, expenditures, and labor resource hours.
Update project financial reports weekly via Excel and Access using data exports from SAP.
Combine actual costs and planned costs from multiple data sources to generate Earned Value analysis and general spend analysis for multiple projects.
Participate in projects to provide standardization and process improvements to existing project financial processes and reporting.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. Preferably in business or a financial field.
Must possess at least six (6) years of related experience. A minimum of 4 years of cost and financial experience preferred.
Must have demonstrable process/project management/financial reporting skills.
Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including technical writing skills.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word.
Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Power BI preferred.
Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.
