BWXT is currently seeking a Met Lab Technical Support for its Lynchburg, VA location!

Job Description/Duties:

  • Generates component layouts and form drawings.

  • Coordinates supply purchasing for Met Lab operations, including SAP purchase requisitions.

  • Performs release functions, including SAP, for steam product.

  • Authors change requests and changes to local operating procedures and PPOs.

  • Authors Authorized Capital Expenditure (ACE) for approved Met Lab equipment purchases.

  • Generates Safety Evaluation Requests (SER) for Met Lab operations and equipment.

  • Generates user instructions, training plans, job aids, and trainer notes for Engineering Group tasks and associated hourly work.

  • Identifies and implements process improvements within area of cognizance.

  • Indexes documents, scans documents, and reviews computer files of records created for accuracy and completeness.

  • Prepares Informational Submittals (IS), Approved Requests (AR), and Requests for Engineering Change (REC) as assigned.

  • Reviews submittals.

  • Completes code compliance entries.

  • Serves as backup to the records coordinator.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a technical field OR a high school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years of relevant experience is required.

  • Prior Quality Control experience is desired.

  • A working knowledge of computer systems and applications software (Solumina, Microsoft Office Suite, docQnet, EtQ, Smartforms) is desired.

  • Previous experience with contract technical requirements is preferred.

  • Previous experience with CAD drawing systems (e.g. Microstation) is desired.

  • Must have demostrable experience of development of skills in own work area to perform a variety of activities.

  • NR product and process experience is desired.

  • Must possess ability to recognize and solve problems that occur in the work area, including application of questioning attitude.

  • Must be highly self-motivated, directed, and engaged, with keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is preferred.

  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities is required.

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a rapidly changing environment is required.

  • Must possess proven strong ability in typing.

  • Must demonstrate excellent experience in multi-tasking, time management, and ability to learn rapidly and enjoy performing a variety of tasks with commitment to quality, safety, and continuous learning.

  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
