Position Purpose Under general supervision, formulates/defines the support and delivery of information technology, providing quality, cost-effective and timely solutions. May perform the following roles: application development, support, testing and functional analysis.

Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline with four to six years work experience, or equivalent experience may be substituted for education requirement.

Strong understanding of data warehousing, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, structured query language (SQL) skills and reporting techniques. Minimum four years’ experience in data warehousing and reporting analytics.

Preferred Qualifications A successful academic or work background indicating a demonstrated ability to absorb information, apply conceptual skills in practical applications, and achieve desired results in a highly technical, operating environment. Incumbent must effectively deal with the rapid technological and business change while maintaining enthusiasm and displaying sound judgment and common sense. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good team player with the ability to build strong business relationships and achieve consensus.

Works cross-functionally with all lines of business and other IT groups to identify, document, and design common data elements. Strong Business Analysis experience and skills.

Strong experience with MS SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), PowerPivot, and Power BI is a plus.

Job Description Independently interacts with internal clients to identify improvement opportunities through the effective use of technology. Guides the interaction to ensure client requirements are met through the use of appropriate technologies. Develops needed support materials to fully outline issues or support client educational needs.

Performs data warehousing activities including the design, extract, transformation, and loading (ETL) from a wide variety of source databases including Oracle and SQL Server.

Create dimensional data models, performing ETLs and validating results with business representatives.

Works cross-functionally with all lines of business and other IT groups to identify, document, and design common data elements.

Support implemented BI solutions by: monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communication functional and technical issues.

Develops user instructions, training procedures and other support requirements. Prepares and maintains system documentation.

Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs documents and maintains simple programs.

Performs applications systems analysis and programming. Possesses technical knowledge of all phases of applications system analysis and programming.

Evaluates hardware and software technologies. Independently interacts with departmental business partners to address routine financial, service and business matters. Recommends action on issues involving equipment acquisition and maintenance, contract negotiation, acquisition financing and consultancy requirements.

Leverages a functional, working knowledge of technologies. Balances technical concerns and client requirements. Knowledgeable of technology relationships and their role and impact in facilitating corporate operating activities.

Provides project management for small to mid-size projects. Balances timing, resource and client constraints.

Follows IT Service Management processes and may serve in the capacity of Change Advisory Board member Configuration Coordinator or Problem Coordinator.

Handles quality assurance review of the projects assigned. Recommends action to strengthen internal controls, improve client services and/or support or enhance departmental work flow.

Devises or modifies procedures to solve moderately complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and desired results.

Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced analyst/programmers. Provides code reviews for intermediate or associate programmer analysts.

All other duties and projects as assigned.

Work Conditions Normal office environment with some visits to fields locations.

Physical Effort Primarily sitting with optional standing/walking and moderate lifting.
