LG&E and KU Energy Physical Security System Coordinator in Louisville, Kentucky
Coordinates the implementation and testing of physical security systems and hardware. Manages access to designated systems and provides ongoing support which includes supporting end users, generating reports, and configuring system settings (permissions, roles, partitions, logical views, etc.)Monitors status of systems to ensure operational readiness. Coordinates system outages and updates. Assists in the development of company security policies and procedures. Researches, evaluates and recommends system technologies or processes to support increased security, compliance, and business continuity efforts.Must be available to serve in on-call capacity to resolve system issues that impact operational readiness. Performs all other duties and projects as assigned.
Primarily sitting with some standing, walking, and lifting (10lbs – 15lbs).
Security certifications (APP, PSP, CPP) and prior corporate security experience preferred. Highly motivated, self-starting individual with ability to multi-task and manage timelines. A dependable team player. Solid ability to take technical information and transform into understandable non-technical communications. Strong planning and organization skills. Works in a professional and highly ethical manner and provides the highest level of confidentiality. Familiarity with the NERC Reliability Standards.
Normal office environment with occasional off site travel. Exposure to noise, elements, etc. Normal 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. typical work day with some on-call responsibilities.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Homeland Security, IT or other related field of study and a minimum three years’ experience in a physical security systems administrator role or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis, is required. Must have knowledge of enterprise Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) and Video Management Systems (VMS). Must undergo NERC CIP Personnel Risk Assessment and training. Proficient PC skills including Microsoft suit of applications.

Under minimal supervisor, this position is responsible for maintaining the operational readiness of physical security systems through the administration of access control, video surveillance, incident reporting, emergency notification, and other related systems and software utilized by the Corporate Security and Business Continuity Department.
