This position is responsible for working with and supporting multi-craft crews, planning and scheduling routine maintenance activities, as well as outage activities to provide continuous, efficient, and economical power plant operation and maintenance.


Working with the Maintenance IC&E and Operations Team Leaders, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing work plans and procuring resources that facilitate efficient and cost-effective execution of routine maintenance ad specific projects. Must be adept at work management best practices and able to apply them to area of responsibility. Must be able to effectively use CMMS (SAP), purchasing, and financial software to meet work management process requirements. Must be familiar with maintenance repair processes to develop appropriate job steps. Responsible for selection and procurement of materials and resources necessary to execute work plans and projects.


  • Develops work plans and procures resources that facilitate efficient and cost-effective execution of routine maintenance and specific projects.

  • Use CMMS (SAP), purchasing, and financial software to meet work management process requirements.

  • Develops appropriate job steps to support maintenance repair processes.

  • Selects and procures materials and resources necessary to execute work plans and projects.

  • Works closely with maintenance technicians and operations personnel to facilitate plans, schedules, job steps, procurement and JHA's.

  • Reviews and analyzes maintenance histories to facilitate process improvements and make work plans more productive and cost effective.

  • Prepares routine maintenance reports such as backlogs.

  • Develops and prepares information for resources loaded maintenance schedules.



  • High School Diploma or equivalent.


  • 3-7 years’ experience in scheduling position with extensive demonstrated success of implementing and operationalizing master schedules.

  • Computer skills and experience with inventory management, SAP experience necessary.

  • Forklift operation and maintenance repair experience helpful.

  • OSHA knowledge beneficial.

  • Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook.


  • Supports the development and implementation of Job Safety Analysis (JSA).

  • Follow LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, JSA and other safety/environmental standards and policies.

  • Maintain a safe work environment. Contribute and report concerns and plant safety deficiencies at meetings. Generate near mess and incident reports for the same items.

  • Secures proper work and equipment isolation clearances as needed to insure safety.

  • Participates in safety and job-specific training programs.

  • Ensures any unsafe conditions are immediately reported; takes immediate action to prevent accidents until the unsafe condition can be fully corrected.


  • 3-5 years’ maintenance experience preferred. Must be accurate and detail-oriented team player. Need general parts, electrical, welding and mechanical equipment understanding.

  • Previous mechanical maintenance planning and/or project management certification.

  • Working knowledge of industry work management best practices.

  • Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude.

  • Strong interpersonal, technical and estimating/planning skills.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, CMMS (SAP Preferred), and scheduling software applications.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing business needs.

  • Effective organizational skills with commitment to deadlines.

  • Work overtime, or irregular hours as needed to support reliable operations of the facility.

  • Work may require travel to other Southland plants.

  • Must be able to successfully obtain a TWIC Card.

  • Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America.
