MISO Energy Simulation Trainer in Little Rock, Arkansas

Position Location: Carmel, IN, Little Rock, AR or Eagan, MN

Would you like to be part of a high performing team that is directly responsible for designing and delivering training for operators that support reliability of the electric power grid in a 15-state region? Does the thought of creating training simulations to help new and existing control room personnel prepare events impacting the bulk electric system that impacts over 45 million people excite you?

As a Simulation Trainer , you will help MISO operators increase their knowledge and expertise by creating and implementing simulation-based for control room operators and engineers and at all levels of knowledge and experience. You will also champion the simulator 5-year plan, concept of operations, and influence the MISO Reliability Portfolio to ensure continued technological enhancements are made in alignment with tool and system upgrades to control room production systems.

You will partner with your team mates to support and improve existing programs like new operator onboarding, on the job training, desk qualifications, and operator training drills – all in an effort to ensure the control room has knowledgeable (breadth and depth) operators with a deep bench strength.

In one year as a Simulation Trainer, you will know you were successful if:

• you have developed robust simulations that positively impact our core customers in alignment with the department 5-year plan

• you have developed strong, positive relationships with operations employees and management

We are looking for energetic and dedicated employees who have:

• Experience with GE DTS Systems and/or experienced control room system operators

• Desire to learn new skills and contribute to a positive team environment

• The ability to negotiate and influence within a collaborative framework

• Demonstrated project management experience

We would also prefer candidates with the following:

• Working knowledge of Learning and Development tools and methodologies

• Strong facilitation and consultation skills

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
