As our Power System Operations Engineer III/Senior , you will be part of MISO’s Real Time Operations group…where the “rubber meets the road.” Our operators and engineers work collaboratively to make complex and quick decisions. This team coordinates the use of the transmission system by ensuring flows stay within prescribed limits and partners with transmission operators and neighboring reliability coordinators to maintain reliability.

As the Power System Operations Engineer III/Senior, you will be part of the team that works collaboratively with Reliability Coordinators and our stakeholders to enable reliable delivery of low-cost energy.

You will also be responsible for working on engineering study automation projects, innovative engineering solutions for operations of the future and cross functional collaborative projects.

In one year as our Power System Operations Engineer III/Senior, you will know you were successful if you have a basic understanding of the MISO footprint, are confident in your use of the suite of real time engineering tools and have established relationships with operators and external/internal stakeholders.

We are looking for hardworking engineers who have:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following:

Electrical Engineering

Computer Engineering

Electrical Engineering Technology

Electrical and Computer Engineering

Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology

• The ability and willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule

• At least three years of utility, transmission operations, real-time operations, or related experience

We would also prefer engineers with the following:

• Transient/Voltage stability experience

• Energy Management System experience

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
