JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Responsible for the lighting operationsof the EAL Distribution Large Construction Organization. Interfaces with a number of operational, customer service and financial functions in the execution of their daily activities. This position is located within the EAL Contract Compliance Organization and will support those day to day operational responsibilities.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing safety, service requests, large distribution construction projects, contract implementation, reliability improvement, storm restoration efforts, responding to Customer Issue Resolution complaints, and managing operational spending, interfacing with multiple workgroups including engineering, CDW, vegetation operations, DOC, network operations, work management, and customer service.

  • Conducting safety observations in the field

  • Training and development of all employees and contractors to insure that they are qualified to perform the work they are assigned. Setting and communicating aggressive performance expectations, learning/teaching process improvements, measuring/monitoring performance levels, providing feedback and coaching performance improvements to employees and contractors.

  • Schedule, assign and monitor work of Entergy construction crews and contract crews. Ensure all work meets company standards, in-service dates and cost estimates.

  • Work with Engineering and Contracts in preparing bid packages, when required. Assign, commit and close out construction jobs in Click and Maximo. Verification of completed work assignments and preparation of related invoices. Read and interpret construction prints. Attend pre-design and conduct post-construction meetings

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum experience required of the position

Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in work related field.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Ability to motivate a diverse and geographically dispersed work force dealing with a wide variety of safety and training issues. Ability to influence employees at the craft level through Jurisdictional Leadership on a wide variety of safety and training issues. Recognize employees with supervisory potential and work with these employees to develop them to be future leaders. Knowledge of company Safe Work Procedures, Construction Practices and Service Standards. Knowledge of DIS and DIS construction units. Strong knowledge of computers and related technology. Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required. Strong leadership, communication, decision making and organizational skills. Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks. Ability to make timely and safe decisions regarding distribution operations. Strong knowledge of Entergy's safety policies and procedures. Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities. Strong problem solver. Ability to work well under pressure. Self-motivated and dependable team player. Ability to make timely and safe decisions regarding outage restoration. Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
