Job Summary:

Responsible for making our #1 critical success factor, safety first, a priority in all tasks and activities performed by self and all

others involved. Plan and lay out fire sprinkler systems using architectural drawings, and prepare calculations for construction

projects.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Learn and understand Fire Sprinkler Codes (NFPA 13)

  2. Learn and understand basic building layouts/basic fire protection layout, up to and including, sprinkler heads/piping/ceiling grid and walls.

  3. Assist with and learn submittal packages/running copies of prints/writing fire protection letters/meeting with fire inspectors.

  4. Assist with field surveys and understand basic building and fire codes.

  5. Investigate and procure all data required to develop a design. Prepare material lists to accompany diagrams.

  6. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Educational and experience requirements include: High School Diploma or equivalency, and a general knowledge and skills in useof a computer.

Requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the general public.

Background check, credit check, MVR and drug screen may be required (will vary by position).
