The Transmission Design and Records Management (TDRM) department:
Is responsible for the Engineering and design of Gas Transmission pipelines, including the lowering of gas pipelines and relocations, emergency valve replacements, and other compliance-driven pipeline projects.
Provides design and technical expertise to other departments.
Perform tasks, technical in nature ranging from standard to complex.
Provide engineering and design support for the TPE and TED-I departments utilizing computer aided drafting and design (CADD) software.
Support both pipeline engineering departments with completing capital and O&M Projects including new pipelines, valve replacements and other pipeline maintenance projects.
The selected candidate may be located out of the Flint, Jackson-Parnall, Saginaw, or Livonia location.
Two-year associate degree in a scientific or technical field, or 48 scientific or technical credit hours as measured on a semester basis.
In lieu of a scientific/technical degree, applicable experience may be acceptable for placement in the Technical Support job family.
Proficiency in CADD and be able to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
Proficiency in MicroStation and Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

Experience in utility design.
Knowledge of GIS applications.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in gas pipeline design or operations.
Knowledge of ProjectWise.
Knowledge of Bentley OpenPlant 3D design software.
Provide high quality design, construction, and record drawings for the pipeline engineering departments.
Fulfill ad-hoc mapping requests using GIS and/or CADD.
The candidate will know and follow all applicable Consumers Energy CADD and engineering design standards.
Retrieve records to support the design and scoping of pipeline engineering projects.
Support the access bill of material database by performing routine updates.
Provide assistance with other departmental tasks in support of compliance with Michigan Gas Safety Standards.
