Position Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring the daily FERC Standards of Conduct (SOC) activities are being performed in a manner consistent with the FERC SOC and with the Company’s SOC procedures. He/she will support the FERC Compliance Assurance Manager to ensure the company is fully compliant with FERC Order 717 and the METC Transmission Services Agreement.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a sound understanding of the FERC SOC requirements.

  • Use Microsoft Access and Excel to process large amounts of data by the development of queries and macros.

  • Analyze daily system reports from multiple sources to ensure that FERC SOC requirements are met.

  • Work within a companywide cross functional team including Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Learning & Development, Corporate Security, Grid Management, and FNC Compliance

  • Maintain necessary procedures and job aides to perform the work.

  • Monitor and report compliance training status.

  • Support integration of best practices and waste elimination into current process model.

  • Produce audit ready compliance records.

  • Adhere to Information Governance records management guidelines.

  • Meet time sensitive deadlines.

Requirements:

  • BA, preferably in Engineering, Business, Finance, or other related field or equivalent experience/training

  • 5+ years of directly relevant work experience

Overview

The Technical Analyst Job Family is utilized throughout the Company, including, but not limited to: technical analysis, technical negotiations, technical transactions, customer service/relations, finance, cash management, materials management/supply chain, project management, records management, risk management, marketing, planning/scheduling and strategic planning

Nature of Work

At the lowest level in this job family, the work performed may tend to be moderately complex in nature where the work responsibilities can be proficiently performed after a moderate period of time. At the highest levels in this job family the work performed will tend to be of a very complex nature involving knowledge of various functional/specialized disciplines where the work responsibilities can only be proficiently performed after a relatively long experience-related time and often requires a specialized or advanced degree. The work environment often includes dealing with risk and limiting exposure.

Leadership, management, facilitation and interaction with senior management will be markedly increased at the mid - highest levels of this job family while the need for direction and supervision will be markedly decreased. While problem solving and analysis will likely be required at all levels, recommendation and implementation becomes the norm at the highest levels and will often have a major bearing on the Company’s business. In addition, skills such as the ability to think on your feet, composure under fire and effective communication across all levels of the organization and with outside stakeholders become more finely honed at the higher levels.

Essential Functions

This is a very detailed oriented position and requires a systematic approach to the work. FERC SOC requirements have very time sensitive deadlines. Failure to comply with these regulations could expose the company to violations/penalties up to $1.2 million per day per violation.

Meet travel requirements of the position. Work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime.

Note that position is Remote for now but will evaluate in July 2021.
