Position Specific Description

This position is in the Power Delivery Operations and Construction section of the corporate Environmental Services department. This group supports the Florida Power & Light (FPL) Power Delivery business unit. The person in this position works closely with Power Delivery’s Engineering & Technical Services department and the Central Maintenance & Construction department.

Primary accountabilities include managing environmental due diligence, permitting and compliance activities for Power Delivery’s brownfield and greenfield transmission, substation and distribution jobs with emphasis on project tracking, systems support, metrics and reporting. The successful candidate for this position must have relevant environmental permitting and/or compliance experience, and must be able to manage numerous projects and drive continuous improvement with a challenging workload (Six Sigma Certification Green Belt or higher is a plus). He or she must communicate and work effectively with internal and external customers including environmental agencies, work collaboratively to find solutions to issues, provide direction to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits, and be able to support major storm related events. Knowledge and experience with Excel, SharePoint, GIS software applications, Power BI, databases (SQL), and/or reporting packages is desired.

Job Overview

Employees in this job are responsible for providing expert environmental support for new and existing facilities including due diligence, permitting, regulatory compliance, regulatory interpretation and development, and interface with Federal, State, and Regional agencies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Supports the company's compliance with environmental requirements

• Performs comprehensive environmental due diligence reviews

• Assists with facility compliance audits

• Conducts environmental licensing and permitting activities

• Supports environmental aspects of company operations, such as, compliance, reporting, monitoring, remediation, and environmental permitting functions

• Monitors and analyzes environmental policies and regulations that affect the company and its customers

• Provides the necessary support to staff to resolve environmental matters

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
