Position Specific Description This role provides critical tax advice to NextEra’s renewable energy businesses. The successful candidate will have a background in partnership and/or M&A transactions and will be comfortable modeling the cash and U.S. GAAP tax treatment of transactions.
Job Overview This job drives value by providing support to project teams and business units throughout the organization with respect to the tax aspects of pending acquisitions, dispositions, financings, reorganizations (acquisitive and divisive), restructurings, and joint ventures in order to optimize tax treatment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities • Communicates complex technical tax issues to management and internal stakeholders • Drafts tax provisions in deal documents and prepares technical tax memoranda • Serves as the single point of accountability for federal tax issues and identifies non-federal tax issues to be addressed by applicable subject matter expert • Works with Governmental Affairs, Investor Relations, and Communications to promote the Company's legislative priorities and assist with communications • Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications • Member in Good Standing of State Bar • Juris Doctorate • Bachelor's Degree • Experience:5+ years
Preferred Qualifications • LLM - Master of Laws
