Position Specific Description
Florida Power & Light Company is looking for an experienced Sr Legal Assistant to join our litigation team and support our Assistant General Counsel in our Juno Beach office.
•Assists with case files, evidence books and hearing preparation including witness lists, discovery and exhibits
•Prepares outside counsel engagement packages, budgets and track outside counsel invoices to ensure budget control for extensive multi-jurisdictional legal practice
•Sets up and maintains Sharepoint databases and electronic files for major proceedings
•Assists in preparing and e-filing pleadings, legal documents and administrative agency reports
•Assists in preparing PowerPoint and other management presentation materials
•Excellent client service orientation with the ability to work with all levels of the organization
•Confidential and accountable

•Works independently and as part of a team
•Proficient with computer systems, applications and common office technology
Employees in this role provide advanced legal and administrative assistance and support functions for attorneys and members of the law department.

• Assists in case preparation including basic legal research, file maintenance and transaction management and closings
• Drafts documents and correspondence
• Maintains legal calendar and schedules all legal proceedings and negotiations
• Mentors and coordinates work activities for junior employees
