Position Specific Description This individual will provide oversight and leadership in the development and implementation of standardized work practices and cost effective execution program. Manage compliance to maintenance construction specifications, operating standards and procedures. Manage safety, budgetary and reliable performance of all transmission systems and equipment, including power plant switchyards and generation sites in designated areas. Ensure compliance to the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC), Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), and Protective Relay Coordination (PRC) standards. Promote Six Sigma quality concepts and aid in the development of the technical services team and ROCC System Operators.

  • Expert ability commercial, communications, integrity and compliance, leadership and professional skills
  • Advanced ability with analysis and problem solving and process/project management skills
  • Competent Microsoft Office applications ability
  • Willingness to travel (30%-40% of the time)

  • 10+ years’ experience in a combination of: Transmission and Substation system operations

Real time Transmission System Control Center Operations

Transmission system maintenance and field operations

Complex analysis and work execution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in related field of study
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Certification
  • Sarbanes Oxley training or experience
  • Union workforce management
  • Six Sigma Certification Green Belt or higher

This position directs the safe, reliable and cost effective operations of transmission, substation, protection and control operations in Florida and/or transmission assets across North America. The North America based transmission operations oversee control center operations, technology platform implementation, and maintenance, as well as field asset operations, installation, execution and maintenance. Employees in this position manage budget and reliable performance for all transmission systems and equipment, including power plant switchyards and generation sites. Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and improves the execution of critical operation and maintenance processes
  • Provides oversight and leadership in the development and implementation of standardized work practices and cost effective execution program
  • Directs planning, budgeting and execution of distribution, transmission, and substation maintenance and reliability work
  • Coordinates and interfaces with regulatory agencies and interconnected entity operations organizations
  • Oversees implementation of transmission benchmarking efforts
  • Drives and fosters strategy for condition assessments
  • Drives the implementation of quality concepts and the use of six sigma process improvement
  • Meets attendance and storm duty requirements and works extended hours
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 10+ years
  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
