Position Specific Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key subject matter expert (SME) for the NextEra Energy enterprise in terms of export and import regulations and compliance, ECCN and HTS classification, export licensing, and all other trade related functions.

  • Utilize strong program management skills to develop, implement, manage and enforce a comprehensive Trade Compliance Program (both imports and exports) for NextEra Energy to include:

  • Policies and procedures governing all import and export activities, deemed exports, technology transfers, etc.

  • Job-Specific and general awareness import/export compliance training.

  • Internal audit program for all import/export operations and activities.

  • Automation and system enhancements.

  • Provide strategic guidance on incorporating trade compliance requirements into the Company’s business processes.

  • Oversee and, when needed, assist with HTS classifications for imported products and components.

  • Oversee and, when needed, assist with ECCN determinations and export license determinations/ license application process.

  • Oversee and, when needed, assist with USMCA and other applicable FT determinations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees a variety of large-scale projects of high complexity

  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports

  • Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes

  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis

  • Identifies issues and challenges, measures and validates results, and implements solutions

  • Provides expert information to internal and external clients on complex issues

  • Creates and communicates presentation materials for report out and updates with various levels of internal and external stakeholders

  • Conducts external research and stays abreast of new developments or innovative advancements pertaining to the project

  • Provides coaching, leadership and direction to project team

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

  • Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
