Position Specific Description

The Digital Public Affairs Program Manager will serve as both a strategist and project manager responsible for helping to scale the playbook and infrastructure of a renewable energy advocacy team. In this role, you will coordinate in-house and agency resources to build community support, counter misinformation, and influence decision makers for clean energy projects. The ideal candidate has a strong political, advocacy, and/or public affairs background and is an expert at digital direct response programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support comprehensive digital strategy for clean energy projects, such as internal project management, preparing marketing plans and budgets, proofing content packages, managing client reporting, and providing analysis.

  • Translate project goals and objectives into actionable and measurable digital marketing and advertising programs.

  • Work cross-functionally with advertising, email, political affairs, IT, and web teams to utilize the latest paid, earned, and owned digital tactics.

  • Direct the project management of the renewable energy advocacy team, including managing agencies, contractors, staff, and vendors to meet business goals.

  • Drive the adoption and roadmap of new lead generation and grassroots advocacy direct response tactics and marketing software.

  • Be prepared to roll up your sleeves to assist the social media program, including community management, copywriting, and publishing.

  • Continually stay ahead of the curve on best practices, platform updates and changes, algorithms, and what’s next on the digital media horizon.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of political, advocacy, and/or public affairs experience.

  • 3+ years of digital direct response program experience in a B2C capacity.

  • 2+ years of experience in people management.

  • Have a deep understanding of the digital landscape, interactive strategy, social media, design, production, and project management.

  • Can demonstrate proven strategic thinking and success in digital political or public affairs campaigns.

  • Have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

  • Familiarity with digital tools in the following spaces: Analytics, CRM, digital listening, email marketing, government affairs software, marketing automation, project management, SEO, SMS, and social media publishing.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills – strong attention to detail.

• Performs market research and analytics

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
