About the Opportunity
This is an open position with Penelec, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [PN]
This business analyst position within the Engineering Services organization will be located in the Penelec service territory.
Responsibilities include :
Modeling and forecasting available resource hours and assist Project Managers with monthly financial forecasting.
Compiling, analyzing, and comparing known and anticipated work with the planned resources availability.
Identifying gaps in work resources.
Attending and participating in forecasting meetings with operating company leadership, as well as monthly planning meetings.
Providing a high level of service, continuous support and proactive involvement to leadership and peers.
Conducting business-specific research and analyzing data, interpreting results, and assisting in implementation activities when necessary.
Providing sound customer service by exceeding customer needs.
Responding to questions and be able to explain Company Process and Policies to customers
Maintaining Company Policies and Processes in difficult situations and discussions
Representing Penelec as a member of Corporate Teams
Contributing to solutions by taking the initiative in developing alternatives and recommendations.
Providing ideas and suggestions to improve moderately complex work processes and/or projects.
Actively seeking ways to build, challenge, and add value within scope of assignments.
Developing and completing stakeholder analysis.
Independently anticipating and meeting internal/external customer needs.
Contributing to strategic planning regarding the use of internal vs. contracted labor based on projected workloads and project needs.
Providing financial reporting as requested by Rates and Regulatory regarding the capital and Operations & Maintenance spend.
Assisting with the development and presentation of the annual capital budget process.
Anticipating and delivering consistent results with the ability to work independently, focused on committed deadlines with end goal in mind.
Working rotational On-call duties for storm, IT, or customer events which at times can be non-business hours.
Two to four-year degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline is preferred
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 2 years of related work experience is required. Related work experience includes demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a production support environment; analytical skills to effectively resolve accounting and billing problems, and identify and implement process improvements.
Collaborate effectively with co-workers and subject matter experts to achieve business unit objectives
Deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines
Knowledge and experience participating in the storm restoration process
Skilled in both oral and written communications in order to contribute to meetings and capture requirements as well as write documentation, specifications, procedures and process flows
Problem solver who can make quick decisions and effectively manage multiple activities
Willingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects and possesses an aptitude to learn quickly.
Willingness to travel to locations within the service territory
Possession of a valid Driver’s license and access to a personally owned vehicle
