Senior Business Analyst for SAP Enterprise Asset Management
The Operations Performance Senior Business Analyst will work partner with Utility Operations, Engineering and Information Technology (IT) departments to implement business solutions for SAP Enterprise Asset Management(SAP EAM), Service Suite Work Management and other related field technologies. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with various business stakeholders to deliver solutions. The selected candidate will be responsible to for quality deliveriables across the Operations and Engineering business work-streams, systems, and applications improvements. The candidate will partner with IT to analyze and develop technical solutions and recommendations, ensure projects meet business requirements and defined business case metrics, develop business continuity/contingency plans and interim business procedures (during project deployments). In addition to strong business and technical knowledge of SAP EAM and Work Management applications like ABB Service Suite or similar product, Candidate should have strong leadership, communication skills to work with all levels of management. The selected Candidate will enjoy working with knowledgable staff and exciting work environment that helps deliver for our Utility Customers in Michigan.
Ensures delivery of business system changes in SAP EAM, Work Management applications like ABB Service Suite and related field technologies.
Lead workshops in gathering business requirements, influence adoption of standard SAP processes, identify and handle gaps while minimizing development effort.
Analyze and document requirements and design solutions for the business process scenarios.
Partner with IT to deliver the technology solution in order to fulfill business requirements, including design frameworks, documentation and proof of concept needs while adhering to documentation, configuration, security, development, and testing standards and guidelines.
Prepare business and functional specification documents.
Verify project deliverables for completeness and quality. Work with client business stakeholders to review and approve these deliverables.
Perform SAP EAM and Service Suite configuration changes that support enhancements and daily operations
Work with users in determining business requirements and troubleshooting issues.
Ensure consistent, timely and effective communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Applies advanced utility and technology knowledge to make decisions on technical efforts and provides a balance of logical problem solving and innovative thinking
Implementation and support including maintenance, business support and validation

- Requires a bachelor’s degree preferably in an Information Technology field. Applicable exempt work experience is not required. Less than a bachelor’s degree may be acceptable if accompanied by other technical training / relevant certifications and extensive experience (internal/external) in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.
Recommended Certifications (not required for employment)
SAP FICO or IS-U or EAM (planning plant and plant maintenance) certification.
Lean certification (Six Sigma Green Belt) or equivalent.
BMGI Business Requirements certification or equivalent.

Experience defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
Strong knowledge of configuration of Device management areas (Meter read validations, Basic settings).
Strong knowledge of Work Management applications such ABB Service Suite or other field software.
Strong understanding of work order management (service orders, work orders etc.).
Experienced in playing functional subject matter expert in SAP ISU business processes.
Knowledge of business processes related to utilities industry.
Technology savvy and enjoys learning new technology.
Data analysis and problem solving utilizing proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Works closely with department managers and users to define and analyze business and operational problems, process improvement opportunities and requirements; analyzes operational and business mandates and legal requirements; identifies and analyzes complex, ambiguous and/or conflicting business process issues; advises department managers on applications development, enhancement and maintenance issues; explains technology and process options and assists managers in analysis and decision making; analyzes management information needs and recommends data and reporting processes; coordinates the development of department priorities and works within IT to align initiatives to these priorities; facilitates user meetings and joint development sessions. Develops and refines business models and relationship diagrams; evaluates methods of improving efficiency and cost effectiveness of business, technical and operational processes; works with users to reengineer work processes; analyzes functional business requirements and translates user expectations into detailed business requirements, specifications and success criteria; works with Information Systems to develop conceptual proposals for business process automation initiatives; recommends work process and/or operational changes to complement system functionalities; serves as an advocate for department needs with IT; stays abreast of developments in departmental processes to anticipate emerging technology needs. Participates in the development of statements of work for RFPs/RFIs; participates in evaluating vendor applications and solutions; coordinates department review of vendor deliverables for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that department needs and requirements have been met. Develops significant application/hardware solutions to problems and addresses change request issues that require assignment of resources. Analyzes and troubleshoots complex and sometimes urgent applications problems and errors; takes action or communicates solutions to problems; answers technical questions and provides guidance to users on system functionalities and methods for correcting problems. Develops training materials and handouts; conducts user applications training classes and one-on-one training sessions; develops and maintains user and system documentation. Designs and generates custom reports to meet user needs; uses reporting tools to extract user-required data. Plans and coordinates the deployment of new technologies for client solutions; coordinates user acceptance testing and the resolution of problems identified. Regular attendance is expected.
