Southern California Edison’s (SCE’s) Customer Service Organizational Unit (CS) shares the responsibility to safely deliver reliable, affordable electricity to our customers. We support this effort by working to meet customer expectations. Customer Service is dedicated to operational excellence and innovative thinking through our workforce in our call center, field operations, billing and payment center, outage and demand-side management and other service offerings.
Safety at Southern California Edison is a core value. In 2017, SCE launched a revamp of the enterprise-wide Contractor Safety Management Program in an effort to drive towards zero injuries, specifically focusing on contractors. The Senior Advisor, Contractor Safety Management Program will lead this initiative and strategically direct cross-functional development teams to further enhance the program. Primary role is to continuously reduce and eliminate risks to the workforce by increasing oversight and collaboration with contractors. The program has major financial and operational impact to the business which requires a strong project manager with a strategic approach, innovative solutions, drive, experience and passion in creating a safe work environment.
The Senior Advisor will also be responsible for leading change management plans and communications for emerging enterprise-wide programs/initiatives, policies and projects being implemented across the company to support contractor safety.
Manageand lead Contractor Safety Management Program for the enterprise andprovide strategic direction to improve contractor safety performance.
Lead anddrive a cross-functional organization across the enterprise and externalparties (i.e. vendors, other utilities and regulators) to improvecontractor safety.
Researchand evaluate Contractor Safety Management Program’s impact to theorganization and continually look for opportunities of improvement;implement an innovative and strategic approach in driving these changes toreduce serious injuries.
Manageprocess of proactively evaluating contractor incidents and observationsand determine strategies to lessen serious injuries.
Foster acohesive and collaborative safety department by partnering with variousareas within the department (i.e. cause evaluators, safety environmentalspecialists and industrial hygienist)
Provideconsultative services in regards to Contractor Safety to all levels ofmanagement and safety professionals within the various SCE OrganizationalUnits (OUs) as well as external parties (i.e. vendors, other utilities andregulators)
Overseesand administers Contractor Safety Quality Assurance Reviews (CSQARs),which are deep-dive field reviews of contractor safety in the field incollaborations with OUs and contractors.
Ensureseffective implementation of safety projects, programs and initiativesacross the company through utilization of communication and changemanagement techniques by partnering with other OUs.
Performs other duties andresponsibilities as assigned
- Five yearsof experience supporting/leading projects/programs.
Bachelor’sDegree in Business, technical discipline or related field.
Master’sDegree in Business or Technical Discipline
Demonstratedexperience implementing and leading major projects/programs.
Experiencein the field performing analysis, consulting, and providingrecommendations.
Engagestakeholders and lead cross functional development teams on major projectsto confirm and organize planned projects, ensuring objectives aredelivered on time, within scope and budget.
Develop,assist, or make presentations to all levels of management.
Excellentwritten and oral communications skills.
Abilityto work across disciplines and to engage all levels of internalmanagement.
Abilityto work under pressure and in an environment lacking predictability due toexternal influence.
Strong,positive leadership behavior.
Proficiencywith MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Relocationmay apply to this position.
Thisposition will be located in Irwindale.
Thisposition will require 15% travel across the SCE Service territory.
