Position Specific Description At NextEra Energy, we are taking our Project Director Origination & Development role to the next level. These talented employees are the drivers of value by creating new business for the company.
This specific role will be responsible for originating and developing small DG (SDG) solar projects for Gexa Energy and NextEra Energy Services (together, NextEra Retail). The role will identify suitable C&I candidates for SDG and market to these customers by putting together the SDG solar proposals to win customers, negotiate the Letter of Intent’s (LOI’s) with customers and ultimately negotiate a power purchase or purchase and sale agreement to contract SDG with Retail’s C&I customers. In addition, the role is expected to perform a project leadership role by leading project development and coordinating the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of these projects with the E&C organization.

Job Overview Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and/or enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the projector transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed timely and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties & Responsibilities • Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive results • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and/or financial negotiations • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting, and interconnection • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements • Fosters external relationships with customers, 3rd parties and/or members of the community
• Identifies opportunities and negotiates power sales contracts • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications • High School Grad / GED • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience • Experience:8+ years
Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's - Business Administration • Master's - Business Administration
