Employee in this role will provide energy management solutions subject matter expertise to the NextEra Consulting businesses to support technical solution selling, sourcing of technical solutions, and contractor network management. The ideal candidate will have broad and deep expertise in energy efficiency, on-site power and storage, demand response, and energy management systems either as a consultant or in a senior energy facilities management role within a large company or institution.

  • Provide technical sales support to sales consultants, including onsite client meetings as needed, for developing energy management solutions opportunities with clients and prospects

  • Manage existing network of external solution providers and identify, develop, and onboard new contractors that can provide energy management solutions. Ensure market and solution type coverage are adequate to meet demands. Measure quality and results of contractors and manage tiering as applicable

  • Develop programs and manage contractors as a channel for increasing sales opportunities

  • Develop solutions to meet client needs and work directly with vendors and service providers to source solutions

  • When needed, provide RFP development to ensure effective and comprehensive process, including defining specific parameters to fit client’s needs and identifying qualified suppliers, vendors and contractors for participation

  • Evaluate responses to RFP and create proposals bid summary to present to the client

  • Provide technical and business advice to client during contracting with service providers and vendors for energy management services

  • Collaborates with NEER business units to fully understand solutions offered by NEER, e.g., water, mobility, storage, etc.

  • Identify existing Consulting clients that are good candidates for energy management solutions, develop screening criteria, coordinate with analytical resources to develop and refine prospecting models

  • Maintains knowledge of state and utility rules and incentives with respect to energy management solutions such as energy efficiency, EVs, storage, etc.

  • Educate Consulting staff on energy solutions

  • Assist with creating marketing materials

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • High School Grad /GED

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Energy Management Experience: 12+ years

  • Bachelor's in engineering or technical field

  • Facility energy management qualifications, e.g., CEM

Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new or enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive results

  • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations

  • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects

  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection

  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development

  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors

  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements

  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community

  • Identifies opportunities and negotiates power sales contracts

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad /GED

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

  • Experience: 8+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's - Business Administration

  • Master's - Business Administration
