Position Specific Description Smile: you’ve found us! Come join our team in expansion! We are seeking a Principal Project Engineer who has a passion for the Energy Retail Market.

This specific role will support a small distributed generation (SDG) solar initiative for Gexa Energy and NextEra Energy Services (together, NextEra Retail). The role will primarily perform or oversee the engineering in support of project proposals for SDG projects for Retail’s C&I customers to ultimately contract with these customers for SDG via power purchase or purchase and sale agreements. The engineering primarily pertains to solar facility production and capex estimates. This role is also expected to coordinate across various technical disciplines within NextEra such as O&M and WindLogics to obtain appropriate project O&M and production estimates. Lastly, the role is expected to coordinate with external engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firms to support the technical aspects of project proposals, project contracts and, ultimately, EPC.

  • Manages one or more programs of complex diversity and scope which are of critical importance to overall company objectives
  • Acts as a subject matter expert
