This position is responsible for leading the land and land administration functions of our Houston based oil and gas operating subsidiary. The land individuals are part of a larger multidisciplinary team that acquire acreage in Texas and Louisiana, to support drilling operations. The land administration team supports all operated and non-operated assets in multiple basins across the US. You will be responsible for establishing and optimizing workflows and processes in a subsidiary fairly new to oil and gas operations within a large organization. This role will lead and engage a team of land professionals to negotiate leases, JOA’s, farmin/farmout agreements, surface use agreements and other industry agreements. Must understand project regulatory issues. You will also be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and revising land/legal contracts for the optimal development and production of oil and gas. Will also oversee internal and external due diligence relating to land rights as well as title curative and acquisitions and divestitures.

Job Overview This position is responsible for directing acquisition of rights of way, fee easement, permit rights and approves settlement of related damage claims.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops project execution plans for management of right-of-way acquisition projects
  • Assists with the development and implementation of plans, policies, procedures and schedules to ensure projects are ready for execution as scheduled
  • Works to ensure all land related transactions will avoid future litigation or disputes
  • Represents company with governmental agencies and landowners in cases of unusual circumstances or great impact.
  • Oversees the development of work scopes to support the organizational goals and objectives effectively
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications
