Pike Corporation Gas Field Technician in Hot Springs, Arkansas

Position Summary: The Gas Field Technician is responsible in assisting with the data entry of all field information. Strong project related skills are necessary to be successful in this role. Organization and continual follow-up are vital to this role. Assist the foremen in the field with data entry and mapping of gas line installations. This position assists the Project Coordinator with execution and closeout of projects and informs Project Management of project status and issues. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently

Essential Functions:

  • Enter heavy data on I-Pad and Computer.

  • Process field information into a work management system.

  • Type 40-60 wpm with minimal error rate.

  • Work independently and follow through on assignments.

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • High commitment to achieving goals and plan.

  • Able to work outdoors (field) entering data and mapping of gas line installations (the job consists of 75% outdoor entering data and 25% in office).

Other Requirements:

  • High School graduate / higher education preferred.

  • Must be capable of accurate data entry skills.

  • Must possess knowledge of computer software (Excel, Word and Microsoft).

  • Understands the proper use of office equipment-facsimile, copier, etc.

  • Willing to work over-time when requested.

  • Able to demonstrate ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.

  • High energy level with ability to work in fast paced, ambiguous environment.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work). The employee may be subject to one or more of the following atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. Outdoor performance of this position will be 75% of the time, with the remaining 25% of performance in an office environment.
