Job Summary

The Distribution Supervisor will be responsible for supervising Associate Engineers and provide the technical support for the administration of the Stray Voltage and Facilities Inspection Program.

This will consist of interpreting the requirements of and developing the inspection program to satisfy the NYS DPS' Electric Safety Standard Case #04-M-0159 in accordance with the LIPA approved Project Implementation Plan.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the engineers' daily efforts in regards to planning and scheduling the work with the contractors and in house supervision to ensure effective execution of the program

  • Support the evaluation of tools, testing equipment, and PPE required for field personnel to perform the work in compliance with all appropriate OSHA and Utility Worker safety standards, and in adherence to PSEGLI Policies and Procedures.

  • Ensure inspection documentation that is submitted to the work coordinators is complete, accurate and filed appropriately

  • Assist the engineers in the development of the tracking system that will be used to ensure all prescribed testing and inspections are completed on an annual basis

  • Perform periodic field inspections to ensure work is being performed in compliance with the contract and to enforce all safety policies and procedures

  • Assist with and provide technical support to the engineers for interpretation of abnormal conditions in the field and ensure that proper classification of these conditions are assigned and forwarded to the appropriate organizations to address. Work with the engineers to ensure that follow up jobs are completed on time and properly documented.

  • Assist the manager in the development of the program budget on an annual basis. Track the execution of the work and provide monthly financial forecasts and variance explanations.

  • Collaborate with the Training Academy in the Planning and Development of the training program for both in house and contractor resources necessary to perform the work

  • Oversee efforts to execute the program within prescribed budgets

  • Compile the data and generate the required documentation for submittal to the NYS DPS on an annual basis to demonstrate PSEG LI's compliance with the approved Project Implementation Plan

  • Ensure compliance with both PSEGLI Policies and Procedures and applicable regulatory agencies

Job Specific Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED and 3 years total of experience in any of the following: OH UG, Substation maintenance, Electric Transformer Shop

  • Prior Supervisory experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point).

  • Applicants must possess and maintain a valid US driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.

Desired

  • Experience with SAP, CONCUR and ARIBA

  • Experience working with labor and collective bargaining unit agreement
