Preventative Maintenance Supervisor

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The individual will direct and coordinate all preventative maintenance activities and assist maintenance team members in completing repairs when necessary.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support, company, plant, and department in establishing and achieving objectives and goals.

  2. Monitor costs associated with preventative maintenance and work to minimize.

  3. Coordinate necessary training for maintenance team members.

  4. Ensure all necessary supplies and tools are provided for maintenance team members to perform their job safely and effectively.

  5. Assist maintenance team members, when necessary, with preventative maintenance and breakdowns.

  6. Communicate issues with operations and maintenance management and ensure preventative maintenance is completed in a timely manner.

  7. Prioritize preventative maintenance tasks according to production demands and assign maintenance team members accordingly.

  8. Prepare budgetary proposals for equipment preventative maintenance, installations, upgrades, modifications, etc.

  9. Direct and supervise maintenance contractors, when needed.

  10. Be knowledgeable in Southwire Policy and enforce in accordance with the policy.

  11. Promote safety with all team members and ensure all safety policies are enforced.

  12. Report all accidents, incidents, injuries and unsafe acts or conditions immediately. Participate in incident investigations.

  13. Perform all other tasks as assigned by maintenance management.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Must have completed Southwire Certification program for maintenance prior to employment.

  2. Good leadership, communication, & decision-making skills.

  3. Must be able to use a personal computer and utilize all software/programs determined by management.

  4. Must have a thorough understanding of processes, procedures, and equipment within the department.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Could be exposed to working conditions such as inclement weather, heat, cold, noise, vibration, dust, dirt, fumes, water, oil, and heights. Where conditions require, protective equipment will be issued to the employee.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2-year technical degree is desired but not mandatory. Minimum of five years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
