Position Summary

Manage and maintain the physical layer of our IT infrastructure to best practice standards ensuring reliability, resiliency, and long term operational sustainability. Operate and support the physical tape backup, mainframe print, and payroll check printing. Collaborate with users and technical teams to support incident resolution, systems monitoring, and problem analysis. This role could be a day shift or night shift (3:30pm – 12:30pm) based on company needs. This position also requires people to be on-call on a rotating basis, every 5 weeks (at this time).

Essential Responsibilities

  • Technical Support – Install, modify, implement, document, and maintain physical system and/or network infrastructure. Analyze physical infrastructure systems requirements and performance to optimize installations and future implementations.

  • User Support – Provides basic contextual and technical information to users. Assist users in identifying difficult technical problems and devising solutions. Advise users on available approved technologies. Work with users to translate user requirements into technical solutions.

  • Problem Resolution – Investigate and resolve problems involving complex systems and/or networks of systems. Provide problem identification for production incidents. Identifies and implements solutions to production incidents. Identify and resolve production alerts. Provide support for systems testing and validation activities. Participate in and contributes to problem reviews.

  • Communications - Clearly and concisely communicates operational status whenever requested. Actively participates in regular status meetings. Prepare written status reports and responses to customer inquiries

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience preferred.

  • At least one year of related experience.

  • Demonstrated strong business and technical acumen.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and effectively apply learning.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred

  • BICSI certification

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint
