Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of all various forms of online and offline power equipment testing in Electric Transmission and Distribution Substations.

• Knowledge of technology to include but not limited to testing practices of power transformers, circuit breakers and substation DC battery systems.

• Research databases to identify systemic issues and report recommendations to leadership.

• Assist with the development of test procedures, operating procedures, and job aids.

• Lead training seminars and presentations.

• Perform second level review of nuclear test data.

• Operate various substation test equipment.

• Create documentation for issue resolution, including technical reports and SAP work orders.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

• 3+ years directly related experience for Technical Spec II

• 5+ years directly related experience for Technical Spec III

• Interface experience with Substation Engineering and Substation technical roles.

• Graduate of Electrical Equipment or System Protection Development Programs desirable.

• Advanced computer skills and knowledge of software applications used in Electric Transmission maintenance and record keeping.

• Knowledge of substation equipment, operations, and maintenance;

• Strong skills for obtaining, reporting and managing electronic databases.

• Extensive knowledge of Electric Transmission safety and work guidelines and procedures.

• Have a working knowledge of control design drawings.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, teambuilding skills, organizational skills.

• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

• Must be capable of working with minimum supervision, must be self-motivated with excellent time management skills.

• Must be capable of lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and prolonged standing;

• Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Associate

Preferred Disciplines:

Electric or Electronics Engineering Technology

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
