Job Description:

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing support to Distribution Dispatch personnel in the outage management/service restoration process. This includes assisting Dispatch personnel in effective use of AEP outage and distribution management systems and assisting central resources with system development/support.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Investigate, analyze and resolve application issues with moderate direction from senior staff.

  2. Participate in the identification of product defects, correction and implementation activities.

  3. Perform application training and participate in training material development.

  4. Conduct dispatcher training schools and provide input to the distribution dispatch training program.

  5. Perform data analysis and assist in the development of reports with moderate direction from senior staff.

  6. Participate with business unit employees and provide input to business processes and associated applications requirements.

  7. Provide assistance and guidance to employees across the corporation in the proper use of applications (Tiers 1 and 2 Level).

  8. Perform application testing and assist in the development of test plans.

  9. Provide extended support to distribution dispatch centers during storms or elevated outage conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

Note: This position will be filled at the experience and salary level commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate, as compared to the minimum requirements stated below.

Support Analyst:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field with two (2) years of dispatching or related experience;

or an Associate’s degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field with four (4) years’ of dispatching or related experience;

or a High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of dispatching or related experience

Support Analyst Senior:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field with four (4) years of dispatching or related experience;

or an Associate’s degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field with six (6) years’ of dispatching or related experience;

or a High School Diploma or GED and eight (8) years of dispatching or related experience
