Job Summary

Our Operations Manager for Gas Distribution will lead and supervise a high-performing, safety-focused operations team across our entire operational footprint. They will be responsible for driving efficient and cost-effectively utilize resources through the consistent and effective application of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.

  • Interface with field managers, clients, subcontractors, and owners to assure customer satisfaction.

  • Plan, coordinate, and/or supervise activities of all operations' employees on assigned projects.

  • Confer with project personnel to update project schedules on a weekly basis.

  • Keep direct contact with projects in progress by visiting project sites.

  • Assist in disputes on all projects, negotiating as required to reach a resolution of construction problems.

  • Oversee all bid projects, including responsibility and management of fleet assets dedicated to bid projects.

  • Work with Office Manager to ensure compliance with all internal reporting deadlines.

  • Prepare weekly revenue and cost reports.

  • Prepare and submit invoicing on a weekly basis.

  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to and interpret policies as required.

  • Cultivate and continuously seek to enhance an in-depth understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.

  • Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs. Liaise with estimating to ensure projects comply with cost, revenue, and schedule.

  • Examine estimates of material, equipment, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.

  • Prepare status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.

  • Prepare project reports for management, client, or others, including dollar estimates to complete and variance analysis for significant items.

  • Analyze projects for adherence to budget and percentage of profitability.

  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 5 years of Natural Gas Distribution experience.

  • Previous supervisory experience in the Gas Distribution field.

Preferred

  • 8 or more years of related Natural Gas Distribution experience, with significant supervisory experience.

  • OSHA 10 Certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
