NiSource Integrity MAOP Intern in Fort Wayne, Indiana

This is an internship position for 2018.Incumbent is required to be a full/part time student at an accredited university or collegeThe Integrity MAOP (Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure) Intern will work with NIPSCO professionals to verify MAOP to ensure regulatory compliance. The intern will be a member of the Transmission Integrity team while supporting Pipeline Safety and Compliance, Project Management, Field Engineering, and Operations by reviewing and analyzing materials documentation, pressure tests, and other data used to establish MAOP.Key Responsiblities: -Use a variety of computer tools to assist with MAOP verification: Excel, Access, ESRI ARCMap, MaxOp, Adobe Pro, Google Earth, Visio, and more. -Review incoming reports and perform gap analysis -Analyze gaps in documentation and coordinate with Field Engineering to analyze locations with inadeqate data -Assist in developing a plan for determining pipeline information at locations with inadequate data -Analyze and link several data sources to assist in merging data into one location -Organize and index electronic documentation to improve searchability and linkability -Review standards and recommend improvements to processes and procedures -Collaborate with Field Engineering, Project Management and Operations on strategic issues affecting pipelines and oversee documentation for new pipeline projectsKey Benefits and Take-Aways: -An in depth understanding of NIPSCO#39;s gas transmission system and processes -An in depth understanding of Federal and State gas regulations (49 CFR 192) -Participate in the development of a new plan for changing regulations -Develop relationships with employees and at a Fortune 500 Company -Apply and develop computer skills and familiar and new computer applications -Apply and develop communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
