Plant Chemist I
Performs environmental and chemistry-related functions at a power plant to support efficient operation and environmental compliance.
Ensures compliance with safety policies and promotes a safety culture by modeling behaviors consistent with Incident and Injury Free (IIF).
Performs basic environmental compliance functions.
Performs basic water treatment operation.
Performs basic boiler chemistry control and cooling water chemistry control.
Serve as a technical resource to plant personnel.
Company representative in Environmental agency inspections (e.g., EPA, ODEQ, Corporation Commission).
- Bachelors Degree in Chemistry; or Bachelors in Science with Two (2) years chemistry experience (i.e. Environmental laboratory, regulatory, Environmental consulting, equivalent military experience, Industrial Environmental, etc.).

Ability to adopt and practice Incident and Injury Free (IIF) philosophy.
Basic knowledge of the plants water treatment systems.
Basic knowledge in plant cooling water systems.
Basic knowledge of the plants environmental compliance and reporting.
Ability to communicate with individuals at various levels throughout the organization.
Basic computer skills using MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Access).
Ability to read and understand environmental regulations, company policies and operating procedures.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in the use of hand tools.
Ability to take on additional responsibility.
Demonstrates the ability manage plant RCRA waste.
May require travel.
May be required to work non-standard work schedules which includes overtime, weekends, holidays, on-call and call-outs.
May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
Required to work with multi-crafts crews and other groups.
May work under hazardous conditions where physical danger exists due to mechanical equipment.
Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Pushing up to 46 pounds of force.
Pulling up to 43 pounds of force.
Frequent walking with frequent stair climbing.
Occasional ladder climbing.
Frequent standing on various surfaces.
Frequent stooping, crouching and/or kneeling.
Frequent fine motor coordination and grasping.
Occasional reaching overhead and frequent reaching forward.
Occasional typing and computer use.

DUTIES WILL BE PERFORMED AT BOTH THE MUSKOGEE POWER PLANT AND THE RIVER VALLEY POWER PLANT
