South Jersey Industries Sr. Treasury Analyst in Folsom, New Jersey

Position Summary

This role on the SJI Treasury team is one that will focus on strategic activities and projects. This is a critical position that will provide leadership of new analysis and processes and will bring efficiency, quality and understanding to the broader finance organization and leadership overall. We are looking for a detail oriented, intellectually curious person that loves to build models and delve deeply into the numbers. The SJI Treasury organization handles all cash, financing and related analysis for the entire company. Roles within the group are responsible for working closely with the CFO, Treasurer and other members of senior management to structural the balance sheet and manage the firm's financial resources.

While this role will have exposure to and be looked at to assist across the group as needed, the primary responsibilities of this role will be to support the Treasurer with some of the more strategic elements of the Treasury group. The company is a serial issuer of equity and debt, so supporting those projects will be critical. As well, the treasurer is looking to significantly deepen the team’s analytical tools, so your experience building financial models for reporting on cash flow, capital structure and rating agency metrics will be needed. The treasury team interfaces frequently with the Company’s FP&A team in support of budget and forecast development as well as monthly reporting to Sr. Management and the Board. This role will serve as a key contact in those communications, so a drive for collaboration and story-telling must be something you are keen on.Other activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the structuring and execution of capital markets transactions

  • Act as a contact for investment bankers, rating agencies, external counsel and internal personnel/departments as appropriate

  • Respond to internal and external stakeholders on requests for information

  • Monitor capital markets for investor trends, deal performance trends, issuer development and potential new structural opportunities

  • Increase liquidity awareness buy enhancing cash forecasting processes

  • Supporting all funding, cash management and any hedging activities as required,

  • Participate in Treasury Workstation implementation project


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field required. MBA or CFA preferred

  • At least five (5) years of experience in investment banking, rating agency, investment fund or other corporate treasury function. Energy or utility experience a plus.

  • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling, cash flow planning and forecasting and other treasury functions.

  • Microsoft office expert, with exceptional excel skills. Presentation development proficiency a must. Experience with treasury workstation and other financial systems preferred.

    Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven culture with availability to work extended hours as needed. Comfortable working in a remote situation until such time as the company returns to our office in Folsom, NJ.
