South Jersey Industries Business Systems Analyst III in Folsom, New Jersey

Position Summary

A career in IT Function Administration will provide the opportunity to drive the planning, design, implementation, organization, and operation of the company’s data communications and collaboration technology. They analyze the needs of departments and establish priorities for design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the company’s applications. These roles also select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Roles and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Configuring solutions into existing Maximo version 7.6

  • Designing a complete project, system, component, or process.

  • Preparing complete project documents

  • Designing and conducting experiments, and analyzing and interpreting data

  • Formulating and solving problems

  • Applying broad knowledge of principles and practices in a specific practice area

  • Independently evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

  • Getting experience with GeoWorx Sync software from GeoNexus.

  • Getting experience with designing and deploying complex ESRI GIS geodatabases in Oracle.

This role will possess an advanced understanding / knowledge of professional engineering and/or technical concepts, principles, practices and procedures. You will work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.It is expected that your role is proficient in most types of works within the group/project team and may act as a technical resource for less experienced employees. Additionally, you will adhere to safety in the workplace in relation to both design and construction. Furthermore, it is expected that you may present results in team meetings. You will receive little instruction on day-to-day work and receive general instructions on new assignments. Your role typically reports to Managers.Additionally, the level and nature of interaction of your role includes:

  • Not having supervisory responsibilities, but providing informal guidance to new team members

  • Beginning to establish recognition with lower level Associates/ Specialists as a technical resource and possibly acting as a mentor to junior staff

  • Receiving guidance on more complex questions and issues from senior level engineers and professionals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or;

  • Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

    Must Have:

  • Experience recommending solutions to new requirements and changes to existing Maximo functionality, in the context of existing systems and business processes

  • Ability to troubleshoot system defects and answer user questions using a combination of front and back end investigation of the Maximo application

  • Thorough knowledge of the Maximo data model and understanding of functional relationships within the data model

  • Experience with Maximo configuration tools

  • Solid documentation skills to help document test procedures and expedite defect resolution

  • Knowledge and Experience with Maximo 7.6 Utility solution applications: Assets (T&D); Work Order Tracking (T&D); Locations, Meter Assets (T&D)

  • Experience with System Administration areas including Message Tracking, Message Reprocessing, Logging

  • Experience with Supply Chain applications: Inventory, Item Master, Receiving (T&D)

  • Experience with Cron Tasks

  • Experience with SQL, writing advance queries, and Start Centers

  • Experience with Oracle Real Time Scheduler MWM and/or ORS

    Strong Preference For:

  • Experience with configuration and system administration of Maximo Spatial and all related Maximo 7.6 configurations and security settings

  • Experience with configuration and administration for Oracle Real Time Scheduler (MWM/ORS)
