The Senior Vice President will manage and supervise the assigned substation, transmission, distribution and professional services groups within MasTec Energy Solutions (MES) and other service-based client relationships related to infrastructure across the group.

The ideal candidate will bring deep construction industry experience and a demonstrated passion for Safety. This role requires technical expertise, the ability to oversee multiple projects over their entire lifecycle, and the commercial and business acumen required to lead the management and operations with an emphasis on the customer. The successful candidate will be tasked with aligning the business around one national brand while simultaneously building a common culture that will support continued business growth, ensuring that a culture of ethics and integrity is embedded and followed throughout the team. This Senior Vice President, Operations will successfully develop, manage, and communicate company objectives, develop business strategies, and report in meetings on their respective division. The successful candidate will develop a detailed understanding of operations, corporate structure, and business strategy to successfully manage and expand organizational objectives and deliver long-term performance gains to the region/compan

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and performance of the assigned groups within MasTec Energy Solutions

  • Assess, evaluate, and report on key business indicators.

  • Assess and establish operational and organizational structures in support of executing against defined strategic business objectives.

  • Provide direction, support, and development to Vice President and Director level direct reports.

  • Research and identify new business ventures for the on behalf of MasTec Energy Solutions and the broader Power Delivery segment.

  • Establish a continuous improvement mindset and enhance current business processes & practices.

  • Prepare, deliver, and present reports at key executive meetings.

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure company growth and stability.

  • Be a key source and proponent of Safety and promote Safety Leadership

  • Evaluate general and specific business conditions and keep the executive team informed on these matters, as well as participate with other executives in developing strategy and corporate objectives and plans for their achievement.

  • Responsible for P&L, forecasting, and budgets based on corporate goals and objectives.

  • Coordinate between various work disciplines within the market team as well as joint venture and collaboration partners.

  • Draft and submit resource/equipment and personnel proposals and recommend subsequent additions and reductions where necessary to include buy, lease, and rent analysis on major equipment.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in Business Management, Engineering, or relevant field of study

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience managing geographically dispersed power infrastructure teams, with a particular focus in leadership of transmission and substation construction.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in negotiations, operational management, and project management and execution.

  • Decision-making, strategic thinking, and leadership abilities in the utility sector are essential.

  • Large-scale projects and MSA execution in the region or adjacent markets in challenging conditions are essential.

  • Ability to collect and process large amounts of data, understand trends, drive specific analyses, and develop actionable insights from them.

  • Possess business and financial acumen and is organizationally savvy.

  • Critical and conceptual thinker who can challenge the status quo.

  • Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, technical procedures, and governmental regulations

  • Able to consistently meet commitments to the business and others. Quickly translate business requirements into actions by defining "who does what by when" to ensure plans are executed.

  • Excellent communicator at all levels in the organization.

  • Ability to translate large amounts of technical and statistical information into actionable insights and communicate to non-technical audiences.

  • Knowledge of industry-related and OSHA regulations.

  • Belief in the critical importance of safety and willingness to take the practical actions necessary to minimize workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
