Sumter Utilities General Foreman TRANS in Florida
Sumter Utilities, Inc. (a Quanta Services company) seeks General Foremen.
Successful candidates will possess existing experience leading an overhead construction crew or long-term experience as a senior crew member able to demonstrate readiness to grow into a greater role. Existing experience in underground excavation, boring, drilling and terminating are required. Preference may also be given to candidates who are able to bring along additional qualified candidates to form entire work crews.

Provide direct supervision to multiple crews of 1-15 persons working in various locations.
Plan and implement efficient methods for utilizing personnel, equipment, and material to complete construction projects.
Develop effective operational plans based upon productivity and profitability reports and established goals.
Enforces company safety policies and procedures. Responsible for all work methods, equipment, safety and housekeeping on the crew.
Submits weekly productivity and unit inventory reports, as required.
Completes necessary company reports, as required.
Ensure that established policies, procedures, rules and regulations are followed.
Solves personnel and equipment problems and informs supervisor of situation. Requests assistance from supervisor, if required.
Assists supervisor recruit, interview, and hire crew members.\
Ensures customer satisfaction by following installation specifications, completing project on time, etc.
Performs related tasks as directed by supervisor.
Trains employees in the Company Work Methods and Equipment Utilization.
May receive training in safety, first aid, and other related topics.
May serve on company committees, as directed.
Performs other duties as required or directed.
High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
Minimum of eight (8) years primary experience in the power line construction industry including at least 3 years working as a lineman.
Must be able to read and understand specifications and drawings, perform complex calculations, and keep detailed records.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License. Class A with Air Brake Endorsement.
Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
