Otter Tail Power Company has an opening for a Load Management Specialist located in Fergus Falls, MN.

A post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience is required. Must have thorough knowledge of computer principles and techniques necessary to develop, document and support software applications and systems. Strong knowledge of C# programming language, ASP.NET framework and Visual Studio development environment is required. Must have experience with databases, Microsoft tools, scripting languages, client-server applications. Knowledge of power system basics is beneficial. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must work well in a team environment and have above average problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues with limited supervision. Good organizational skills and positive attitude are required.

Manage the company Load Management System (LMS), ensuring that it operates in a highly reliable, available and accurate manner and addresses company rate, regulatory and operational requirements. Provide application administration support for the Network Applications System (NAS). Responsible for the maintenance and support of the controlled load calculations and the load management system model. Maintain the load management capability report. Schedule and facilitate periodic Load Management Team meetings and participate in Load Management Steering Team meetings as a subject matter expert. Provide load management updates at company meetings. Monitor control periods and performance. Monitor and for accurate content and timely control notification. Respond to remote bypass requests and track problem resolution. Monitor communication verification and report failures to Telecom support. Coordinate with external and internal resources to complete upgrades, resolve issues and enhance functionality/performance of the LMS and NAS.
