Master Tool & Gage Setter - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, OH
Perform setup and assembly to tools, gages, fixtures and other measuring devices to support production schedules. Ensure production setup readiness and assist with daily tool and gage requests from manufacturing floor.
Work with complex drawings, blueprints, etc. and use mathematics to solve/resolve complex tool, gage and inspection issues and/or setup requirements.
Work includes inspection, assembly, setting and calibration of various mechanical and electronic tooling and gaging.
Receive, issue, stock and transport all toolings, gaging, and supply stores per established procedures.
Use precision measuring and instruments including: Jo-blocks, electronic indicators, comparators including Devlieg and Zoller tool setters.
Assistance to be given to all BWXT employees regarding all tool and gaging issues.
Possess skills necessary to maintain accurate documentation of procedures.
Possess basic computer skills to quickly and accurately read and enter data into various system applications.
Ability to provide positive and productive customer service to the organization.
As required, prepare manufacturing setups, validate all tooling and gaging availability per manufacturing document list.
Perform housekeeping and other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Five (5) years of tool and gage setting experience.
Two (2) years of calibration experience.
Working knowledge of MIL-STD-45662.
ASQ certification and knowledge of ANSI 14.5 preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
Ability to pass all applicable certications.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk to hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
