We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer III with a focus on Substation Engineering to join our dynamic team. As an Electrical Engineer III, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical substations, ensuring their efficiency, safety, and reliability.

  • Provides the requisite project management, project estimating, design engineering, permitting, procurement management, and closeout for the construction of additions and modifications to the District's substations to ensure the safe, reliable and economic transformation and delivery of electric power to meet system and customer load requirements.

  • Provides project management services on small and medium size substation projects and participates on larger project teams as required and/or technically complex District projects.

  • Accountable for design compliance with all applicable governmental, Code, industry standards, internal procedures, reliability (NERC/MRO/SPP) standards, and internal policies.

  • Accountable for safety, reliability, operability, and economy of assigned projects.

  • Keep abreast of the latest technological advances.

    Qualifications

Required:

  • Four (4) year Bachelor of Science degree in (Structural/ Civil / Electrical) Engineering degree (ABET-accredited degree) OR Professional Engineer (PE) certificate.

  • Four (4) years of equivalent engineering work experience. Special projects and committees including technical skills may be considered for experience durations. Master's degree may be considered for up to two years of experience.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT/FE) or other relevant industry-level education / certification

  • Knowledgeable in the various regulations and codes, which apply to their specific discipline.

  • A valid driver's license

Desired:

  • Familiarity and experience with Ventyx (Asset Suite), Cognos, AutoDesk (CAD, Inventor, Vault), Bentley MicroStation, PeopleSoft, SharePoint.

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business.

  • Demonstrated capabilities of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and presenting recommendations.

  • Advanced MS Office Professional Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Electric utility substation design and construction exposure.

  • Understanding of NESC, OSHA, ASCE, etc. as it applies to Substation design and construction methods

  • Thorough knowledge of OPPD's T&D, Substation and Generation system.

Minimum: $94,112

Midpoint: $117,640
