We have an exciting opportunity for you! This is an intermediate SCADA Support level. The primary focus of this role is to provide day to day support work. The role works independently on technical issues, demonstrates broad business and technical knowledge in resolving problems, identifying opportunities and has a keen awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders. Communication may be written or verbal and aimed at technical and non‐technical audiences. While in this role, your primary focus will be to craft, implement, deploy, support and maintain SCADA system and supporting Control Center. The SCADA system supports Control Center operations that allow operators to monitor and control pipelines as well as Renewable Energy operations. What you will do:

  • Develops, deploys, and maintains the SCADA system. SCADA system implementation, integration, operation, support, and maintenance that includes data analysis, screen development, database updates, scripting, point to point checkout and document.

  • Supports ongoing safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the SCADA systems through maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, corrective action, and administration of SCADA infrastructures.

  • Analyze and resolve problems due to process and control system anomalies.

  • Monitors and manages the environment for failures and performance problems.

  • Collaborates with internal clients and third-party service providers when troubleshooting complex issues.

  • Develop and implement control strategies and graphic screens for the gas control center.

  • Provides support to field technicians for graphic screen point to point checkout.

  • Collaborate with Gas Control Center personnel in supporting and enhancing the SCADA systems.

  • Supports Gas Control efforts to develop and implement control room management practices and policies.

  • Develops and maintains system documentation, operating procedures, and inventory.

  • Document changes, obtain required approvals, and submit changes.

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Provides 24X7 on-call rotation to support Control Center operations.

  • Provides support to various business groups such as Gas Control, Measurement, and Operations.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Must have the ability to work independently but also work in a small team environment

  • Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

  • The ability to communicate well and quickly trouble-shoot problems will be required.

  • Must be organized and can manage projects of varying length.

  • This position often requires independent problem-solving skills and be able to present solutions to customers, team members and management.

  • Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently.

  • Must be a great teammate and have both technical as well as interpersonal skills.

  • Adhere to departmental budgets.

  • The ability to follow instruction according to company policies and procedures is required.

  • The ability to learn in a dynamic and fast paced environment is required.

You have:

  • 2 years of technical degree in Computer Technology with 5+ years of experience in SCADA system

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or Engineering, preferred

  • 5 years of SCADA experience in the oil and gas pipeline industry.

You can:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Cygnet SCADA including CygNet Vision, CygNet Studio and CygNet Explorer

  • Show knowledge of pipeline operations and procedures

You are:

  • Someone who can use and operate Microsoft Office applications.

  • Someone who can understand P&ID wiring diagrams or other related documentation of piping and field instrumentation.

Preferred:

  • Solid Microsoft skills with an emphasis in advanced Excel.

  • Experienced in scripting languages such as .Net and Visual Basic

  • Demonstrated knowledge of pipeline hydraulic modelling

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with moderate noise level.

  • Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time.

  • Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy and identify and distinguish colors.

  • On-call evening and weekend work as required and during emergency situations.

  • Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 support.

  • Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand sophisticated problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, coordinate thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and supervise impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and connect with individuals via telephone.
