Nature of Work:
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing company equipment and vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties listed below may vary in terms of importance and other duties may be added or eliminated as this position develops.
Repair and maintain mobile heavy equipment and company fleet trucks.
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
Diagnose and fix equipment problems.
Maintain cleanliness of work area, including proper storage, return or disposal of parts after each job.
Communicate availability and needs of equipment with management team.
Develop quality vendor relationships to supply needed products within a timely manner.
Required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary degree or certification in diesel technology, heavy equipment maintenance, or small engine repair strongly preferred.
2 years of demonstrated mechanical aptitude including knowledge of parts and components construction equipment and engines as well as the tools to fix them.
Ability to read blueprints, and troubleshoot and solve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Must have hydraulic, electric and air brake expereience, as well as welding experience.
Background on equipment, and light, medium and heavy duty trucks.

Most of the work will be performed in a shop environment.
This job requires physicality including: prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting; exerting push and pull forces with arms in order to use various tools; using hands to grasp tools and parts; and climbing onto and around equipment and vehicles.
