Provide engineering services to our natural gas utility operations in multiple states. Reviews industry regulations and develop procedures to ensure compliance. Work in partnership with state operations to ensure safe, reliable service to customers. Performs complex system analysis and oversees implementation of actions and measures. Leads a variety of natural gas projects with limited supervision.
SALARY RANGE: $74,800 - $112,200 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provides general engineering support and service to natural gas operations in the company’s multiple state natural gas business
Ability to anticipate, perform complex analysis, and solve a range of problems by analyzing possible solutions using standard engineering procedures
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Lead multiple projects as assigned
Active engagement and facilitation of pipeline safety activities.
Provides technical input to achieve department goals.
Actively seeks improvements for work processes across the department or project.
Leads process improvement initiatives as assigned
Maintains a successful partnership with NGU operations.
Provides general technical support for Natural Gas Utility Operations.
May train others in the NGU
Acts as a mentor in areas of expertise
Proficient knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192.
Champion of industry and company safety practices
Provides professional services elsewhere in the company’s energy business, as requested.
Participates in community relations based activities
Participate in state and federal audits
All other duties as assigned
Minimum of 4 years of gas industry experience with proven knowledge of natural gas operations is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution required.
Proficient understanding of natural gas engineering principles.
Demonstrated technical and operational expertise.
Proficient knowledge of support functions including but not limited to Finance, Accounting, IT, HR and Supply Chain.
Proficient knowledge of network design, standards, and system operations.
Understand and apply advanced concepts of related engineering disciplines
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Effective presentation, facilitation and training skills.
Strong writing and editing skills.
Proficient in word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
Ability to lead and participate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage projects of varying scale simultaneously.
Ability to thoroughly document analytical work.
Team player and demonstrated ability to effectively lead in such an environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously (67% or more) required to: use fingers and hands, communicate, and have close visual acuity. Employee must be able to operate routine office equipment including computers and similar equipment. Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or continuously to lift, carry, push, pull or sitting most of the time. Work environment: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level, and occasionally outdoors in sometimes inclement weather. Worker may be subject to hazards including variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working in places of height, or close quarters. Must be capable of up to 25% travel (e.g. 1 week or 5 days/month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.
